Public Hearing
October 10, 2024
The Illinois Department of Transportation, in partnership with the City of Joliet, held a public hearing from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on October 10, 2024, concerning the improvement of US 52 from River Road to Houbolt Road in the City of Joliet and Village of Shorewood in Will County. The hearing took place at Joliet Junior College in Joliet.
The purpose of the hearing was:
The hearing was an open house format. Exhibits were displayed, and an audio-visual presentation was shown continuously during the hearing. Project team members were present to discuss the project and answer questions. A Public Forum was held at 6:00 p.m., where the public was invited to make statements to a court reporter.
- To present the preferred alternative for the improvement of US 52 from River Road to Houbolt Road
- To present Section 4(f) impacts to Hammel Woods and Rock Run Preserve
- To obtain public input
